A Great Story...
Al and Marie Great opened their first restaurant in 1958 called The Drift Inn. It was a warm neighborhood place which specialized in the best baby back ribs and broasted chicken that the Chicago area had ever tasted. The business ran successfully until 1981 when Al and Marie sold the business and retired.
Many years passed and people were asking when the Great family would get back into the restaurant business. Well here it is, revived by the entire family, we proudly bring you The Great Escape Restaurant.
Enjoy a fabulous meal in a warm & cozy atmosphere without breaking the bank. The Great Escape offers fabulous fall off the bone BBQ Ribs, Great Steaks, Succulent King Crab Legs, fresh fish selections daily, broasted chicken. These main entrees are accompanied by a well rounded American eclectic menu. After dining, why not stop by our antique bar where Al Capone drank and Tom Mix made silent movies in the early 1900's. The bar was built on this site in 1889 when the Iron Horse steam engines rule the plains.
